    Default Tree Cycle

    G'day
One of our club members noticed that there is an upcoming exhibition at the Sydney Botanical Gardens .It features the work of prominent artists and craftpersons who have made items from salvaged timber which had been removed from the gardens due to storm damage etc . It starts on 11/8 .For details google" Sydney Botanic Gardens Tree Cycle".Might be worth a look.

Richard Raffan told me about this some time ago. He will have some pieces on display. At the time, there was very little advertising and no list of exhibitors on the website, although I have seen some details since (some very well known names on the list). I'll certainly be going to have a look. Well worth it and a great idea.

Default While walking through the park one day.......but please note the closing date!

    A picture essay....

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

The pictures are basically in sequence and give a tiny overview of what was on display but I am horrified, or maybe more probably perplexed, that such a display of the work of many of our most esteemed wood artists would be so poorly publicised! If it wasn't for Ted, Woodnut and our own aptly named Treecycle, I wouldn't have known it was on. I still have a number of connections with the Botanic Gardens (from an earlier life) and many more connections with event organisers (via 2 of my daughters) and I will be telling them that IF they really want a woodworking audience ..... THEN PUT IT ON THIS BL**DY FORUM!
Unfortunately there are now only 2 days left but it is well and truly worth a visit!

Thanks for the post Fletty. I couldn't believe how poor the advertising was. As I stated before, when I first looked at the website there was virtually no info and certainly no list of exhibitors. Maybe they wanted to keep it a secret! Very poorly organised.
