Weather Hits Forum Sponsor Hard
Misan Timbers on Tasmania's Northwest Coast were hit hard last night by what was believed to be a mini tornado. Photos of the destruction on the Advocate website here.
Mike & Sandra, I hope that things are not as bad as they look and you can get back into business quickly.Kev

Wow, is there anything that wasn't broken? Hopefully there was no rain involved to damage all the timber inside.

Wow! That's harsh. I looked at those photos and see the obvious immense damage to their business, but I'm sure can't imagine how gutted they are and how much work they will have to do to recover. We wish you the best of luck to a speedy recovery.

Aussie spirit
Hi Mike and Sandra,
Having survived 2 Category 5 Cyclones ( Larry and Yassi), and experienced that scale of destruction, I can fully understand just how you feel at the moment.
We were helped by Aussies in our time of need.
Is there anyway I can help you?
If so , please PM me
Bushy

I'm really sorry to hear this. Miserable. Not just the roof, either, but a hell of a lot of the brickwork as well.
I buy regularly but not frequently from Mike and Sandra, but as soon as the business is up and running again I'll try to buy a bit more than usual, to help things along. I can imagine what they're going through.
Edit: It sounds like the whole East coast is in for some of that wind over the next day or two. Batten down the hatches.... Steve

Misan Timbers / Craftwood
I'd sent an email inquiry the day before the storm...
Today's reply says all the timber is sodden so will be a while before timber sales restart let along the business building sorted.....
I hope the forum members support Misan as soon as they are able to restart selling.....

Jiminy, after seeing the smashed trees nearby I'm surprised anything is left standing at all. I hope they can recover from this.

Best wishes to Mike & Sandra
I WISH you Mike & Sandra all the very best ,hopefully the clean up will not slow down your can do attitude to your enterprise and that you're up and running soon.
Terrible storms in Northern Tassie had taken a nasty hit on that part of the island as we all know ,but I know Mike & Sandra will be back on their feet in BURNIE doing what they do best that is looking after us woodies .
I Had the good fortune to relieve Mike & Sandra of a really goodly parcel of their timber when they relocated back to Tassie from WA a few years ago .Some beautiful figured timber that I still have awaiting the whisper of a plane.
CheersJohnno
