Hi everyone.
I have been looking for some kind of wood workers' club, society, group or whatever you like to call it, a place like MAD in Loganholme, I suppose, and I came across this announcement (below) on woodwork forums. I am wondering if there was any outcome from all the discussions some of you had back then? And do we have a fine woodworkers’ club in Brisbane now? If not, would there be enough interest and support amongst us to establish one. I have been in the industry for many years overseas and in Australia, specialising in woodcarving. If there is enough interest and support, I’ll be more than happy to organize meetings towards the establishment of a Brisbane fine woodworkers’ club. Any help or comment would be appreciated.

"(Gday all - those of you who checked the general woodwork forum this morning would have seen a lament about the lack of a club for furniture-makers and general wood butchers in Brisvegas. You might have also seen that I'm happy to lend part of my shed for the purpose, if anyone is interested. I'd be a member straight up, as my own fine WW skills are crap at best. The only catch is that you'd have to supply your own tools, because our business is milling and salvaging, not woodworking. Rocker has already chipped in with an offer to help out where he can (silly bugger - he should know better

).
We currently trade at the yard from 3-7pm daily and I can see no reason why we can't have the shed open for the club 'til late when needed. There is an area of about 50sq.m which could be easily turned into a club workshop, as well as the yard and the main part of the shed. There are dunnies and a smoko room close by.
Anyway, if anyone's interested, drop me a PM or give me a call on
