Well, it's nearly here so it's time to say thanks to all my online family for the past 12 months of enjoyment. There aren't many forums around like this one and maybe that's why we get a bit protective of it when somebody rocks the boat too much.
We've had some fun, a few people off and stood up to fight when needed. We've shared lots of laughs and been tolerated by those who rule around here.
Especially thanks to Neil for giving us the opportunity to waste half our lives in here and thanks to for putting up with all my crap.
I've learnt heaps, shared what I know and made quite a few cyber friends over the past year. It's also been good to catch up with a few of you in person at various times.
Enjoy the time with your repective friends and families, afterall, we're not here for that long and life is too short.
So have a Merry Xmas everybody, take it easy, stay safe and enjoy the festivities on Sunday. I hope Santa is good to you.
yours in plasticene,
Gumb.If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Thanks for all your help & tips throughout the year and I hope for many more next year.

I think this is a record. Hasn't Gumby hijacked his own thread with the first post?!
Personally I'm with Doug - I think Christmas was a lot more fun before the Roman's decided to apply the biblical slant to the midwinter festivities. I'm into a big feed, then snuggling up under the furs to celebrate fertility
For me, I'm going to take the opportunity of the slump in business to take two weeks off and spend some time with the family (hopefully finish my sister's 40th birthday present (3 months late - hey, she'll be forty for a YEAR, I've got plenty of time...))
I've had a great time here, so thanks everyone for making it so lively. Best wishes, to you all, ChrisJudge not lest you're judging yourself

Reminds me of some of the ancient music I listen to, lots of references to shepherds dancing and doing whatever with nymphs, there always seemed to be an abundance of nymphs or was it a case of the goats became considerably prettier after a few weeks alone in the hills???
That was my contribution to fertility anywayStupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

Best wishes for your chosen celebration, and thanks to all for the fun and seriousness, with special thanks to our hosts on this forum and the long-suffering moderators.

24th December 2005, 06:11 PM #43I'm offended by all these "merry christmas"s. What if you're not religious? Can't we just say "seasons greetings" or something equally neutral.
Of all the influences that have shaped Australian Life, none has been more profound, none has been more beneficial, and in my view, none has been more enduring than the Judaeo-Christian ethic.
The values that we learnt from the story of the gospels of the birth of Christ are values that continue to condition us.
We are a nation that respects its secular tradition.
Religion and belief is not compulsory in this country, nor should it be.
In that context, I do believe in a secular state, but I equally believe that we should never be apologetic about our Christian tradition; we should never imagine that tolerance towards minorities is achieved by denying our own heritage.
and again Merry Christmas to all!!
cheers,
P
