Frog in a pond
Following on from MM’s Echidna pics and the subsequent talk of snakes, I thought I would share some pics of wildlife in our backyard. We put a pond in a few years back and slowly but surely had some frogs move in and take up residents. They are fantastic and the kids love them. Their call keeps going all night at different times of the year, one thing we have to watch out for is stepping on them if we go out in the dark. I get up for work at 3:30am and head outside with the dog before work. I manage to get a photo or two of them on the path to the shed or on the grass. We also have a blue tongue lizard and a shingle back living under my milled timber pile behind the shed. The neighbour across the road had a young brown snake in her yard recently. I am aware how much snakes love a frog or two for dinner and we have been on the lookout ever since the frogs arrived.
