A nice clear sky at newcastle.

And a fun crowd howling at the red moon.

I watched with the kids on the back verandah. They had never seen an eclipse and this was timed right in the middle of idiot box time so I was quite happy to have them doing something more intelligent.

The sky was as clear as it gets around our place, not cold, bloody good night!

It was great!!! Started out a bit cloudy but cleared up beautifully. I've never seen a full moon eclipse before so it was very interesting to see how orangy-red the moon go. I tried to take some pictures but haven't had a chance to check them yet.

    cheers

No pics but I did go out and have a look at it. Even though the city lights dimmed it somewhat it was still pretty good.

But did you agree with them, or did you too fear the end of the world?

No pics. Had a squizz through the telescope. The kids were very excited about it. Perfectly clear night here, not a cloud in the sky.

Actually it was quite funny. I was howling like a wolf on the balcony then a neighbour 3 blocks away started to do the same thing. We went on for a couple of minutes.

    Craig, could you hear me?

Poor Jamsin was a little bit scared though.

Great clear night LOML and daughter all sat in the backyard and watched it from the start till about 9.30
    Sausage sandwhiches & cuppa
set up video got about 35 min's not bad would have been better if the flamin tripod hadn' been so much a pain in the $$^* it either was slipping out of position or wouldn't move when I needed to follow the moon.

Also set up the 35mm SLR will have to wait till I get the film (yep did it the old way) first time in many years

the worst of it was bloody neighbours who kept walking outside to see how it was going firing up their auto flippin outside lights when lens was open had me mutering like Muttley frign fragn fuzzn

    I had a great time.
I opened our local observatory and had about 20 people come and look through 4 different telescopes at the moon. It was perfectly clear.
Some people took photos throught the scopes.
Mine are on film still in the camera so no pics yet.
