    Great fun yesterday!.
It was all about the goings on in one tree and who's it was going to be, either the New Holland or the Spinebill.
They spent most of their time trying to chase each other off.
In the end I'd say it all came out pretty much even.
Mind you I think the Bumble Bee that neither of them noticed got the best of the deal quietly going about his business.

The morning was beautiful here yesterday, but the afternoon not so much!.
Still make hay while the sun shines and all that.

Even though his high up in the tree I was really happy to get a snap of the Brown Goshawk.

It's all good down here Peter.
The day before last we had a big storm come through.
    Lots of power outages.

    Yesterday was much more bettera!.
Although not much around for happy snaps.

And to be honest I spent most of yesterday in the shed covered in styrofoam.
I've started forming a tank for the Brough!.

    Cheers

I was wondering if that was the reason you were not around. It has been pretty wild here too.

A bit of an odd day yesterday I spent more time trying to remove birds than photographing them.
But first here's a few shots of the ones where they should be "In The Trees".

    IMG_5904.JPG IMG_5922.JPG IMG_5933.jpg

The first rescue was a starling which had managed to getting into the roof of the house.
I lifted a piece of tin near where I could hear it flapping around.
Luckily it came shooting straight out.

The second rescue was a little more problematic, a Currawong flew into the glassed in area near the kitchen of the house.
It's a bit like a closed in veranda on the side of the house.
We've had Wrens, Fan Tails and Robins find themselves caught in there before.
But the Currawong was really getting upset at not being able to find his way out.

    IMG_5960.jpg IMG_5961.jpg

Now it's pretty obvious I took the time to take some photos of his predicament, which probably isn't the most PC thing to do.
    But what can you do?.
It took quite some time and more than a few decent wacks into the glass before I could usher him out.
Apart from a slight headache I think he was fine!.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Glass and birds don't seem to go together too well. I have a glass fence around my pool, and have had a couple of Rainbow Lorikeets come to a very abrupt halt after they were taking a shortcut. They seem to recover O.K, but they must have a doozy of a headache for a while.
Your bit of excitement yesterday would have been a distraction to the Brough build, but a good opportunity to get some close ups of the Currawong. I'm still envious of the variety of birds you have in your (extensive) backyard, but certainly not envious of the cool weather you get down in your part of the world.

Have fun with the build, and thanks for sharing the pics of your bird friends.

    Alan...
