Trev, what body are you using that 150-600 Sigma lens on, is it a full frame?

Nice place Scamander, we were there early last year after staying at the Bay of Fires, then came down the east coast.

Have you had a scallop pie yet, Tasmanian specialty-recommended.

Canon EOS range is my fav with the digital stuff.

This shot of the New Holland Honeyeater was taken with the sigma 600 on an old EOS 1000D.

The Forest Raven is the same lens on a 70D.

Once you get into the full frame stuff it's all a bit much for me.
Gone are the days of having a Pentax K1000 loaded with kodachrome.

Mind you if I didn't wont to buy a house I'd love to put a digital back on my old Mamiya 645.

I haven't tried the scallops yet.
I'm to busy scoffing down the flathead.

    Cheers mate
    Trev.

Aaah, the days of K1000s and Kodachrome...... sweet!
l have several thousand Kodachrome slides of Australian aircraft, still as good as the day they were taken. I was looking the other day at some beautiful slides of a Beech17 taken at Bankstown in 1965 ..... yep, 50 years ago!
Trev, it looks to me like you have found paradise, you deserve it!

That makes the quality of the Sigma lens even more obvious, mind you it should be, not cheap!

Ah the old film days, my medium format camera was a Pentax 6x7, large format a Linhof wirh several Rodenstock lenses.

I forgot "Go Figure" to put a picture of the Indian at the Motor Museum the other day.
It's sitting in the front window section of the building which is really nice.
At the moment it's sharing the space with an Aston Martin.

    Cheers

Gotta put these two on a post. (kinda of a pun there)
It got pretty noisy here this morning when a couple of Kookaburra's decided to go right off their heads!

I hope I've not failed in mentioning how wonderful it is being down here.

    Cheers

All this bird life and photography is going to seriously interfere with your "real job" - model making.

Love the second shot Trevor of the cackling kookaburra's.....
You are certainly enjoying the outdoor lift in the new home...

Also, Must agree with you on Fletty [Alan], one top bloke....
Did you meet him at the Katoomba GTG you attended?
I hope you make it up in 3 weeks as it'd be great to catch-up again....
    Cheers, Peter

Peter I don't think it would matter to much if I'd met fletty yesterday or four score and seven.
He'd still feel like a lifetime friend.
You can put yourself in that boat by the way mate.

I'm not to sure on the GTG at the moment.
The Tasmanian Vintage Motorcycle Club has it's annual rally at Ross on the 22nd of Nov.
It's a big weekend with 500 to 600 vintage bikes on show.
The organiser's would like the Indian on display for the day.

I've had some fun over the last couple of days turning one of fletty's Brough photos into a paint drawing.
Kinda reverse photography if you like.
His taken a photo of the speedo that is very close to centred so it didn't take to much to adjust for the distortion.

Thanks to the red disc in the picture which we know is 29.5mm I can scale the speedo face to any size I like.

I've still got some mucking around to do with the colour, and little things like making the orange line a little boarder.
But the face itself is looking pretty much like the original.

    Cheers
    Trev.

Thanks Trev ..... and Crowie...... I've been a'thinkin! There were many offers from the forum during the Indian and Harley threads to help with the scrounging. What would you think about posting dimensioned pictures or drawings of bits that might be hard to find like the headlight cowlings and scale wheels and we can have hundreds of eyes scouring junk yards, kitchens and sheds rather than just 2? I know I'd like to contribute.

I went into Ross this morning and took a few shots of the Bridge.
It wasn't the greatest of weather conditions being overcast the light was patchy at best.
Still it's pretty hard to make such a beautiful thing look to bad!.

The sandstone Bridge was built in 1836 by convict labour.

The stone wall you can see in the background to the left in the picture above is the one in the last picture.

    Fairdinkum beautiful stuff!

    Cheers
    Trev.

P.S I think a Brough threads in the wind fletty.

I think we best just call this tread birds in my garden!.
There's just to many of the wonderful little things.

A Scarlet Robin and a Grey Fantail.

There's been a Firetail flitting in and out the last few days.
But at this point he's quicker than me.

    Cheers
    Trev.
