Lake Mungo. Prayin-for-Rain
Lake Mungo ............
Lake Mungo ... the nearest you will ever get to walking on the surface of the moon !
9 minutes ... turn volume up .. make coffee ... settle into a gloomy introspective mood .. and watch !
Hope you liked .. ... Greg

Thank you Chambezio.
I have been going there now for over a decade. Camping in what was once a desolation. But now .. the rangers are there, the tourists from Japan are flown in to Melbourne, bus'ed to Mildura, Bus'ed to Lake Mungo. An 'Open-on-demand' style resort has been built. And then, having 'done' Lake Mungo, they are gone in a day and night.
Don't put your trip off to long, or it will be elbow room only .. HaaHaa

Thanks for the advise Greg.
I don't like crowds at any time. The isolation and desolation make Mungo appealing to meJust do it!
Kind regards Rod

Those photos bring back memories as we did Mungo in 2008 on way back from Flinders Ranges and is certainly worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing I have been to Mildura a few times but wet weather kept us away from Mungo. I am sorry that they used Middle Eastern music and not traditional Aboriginal in the video tho.

Thank you mate for kind words.
Ummmm ... I made the video .. HaaHaa ... the music ? ... I pirated from a Lisa Gerrard CD... ummm ... she iz Ozzie ... She did the muzak for 'Gladiator' and many other famous movies.
Others have made the same observation as you as well, that the muzak should have been indigenous. Point noted .. and thanx

The photography and video were spectacular well done.
Funny/coincidence our old next door neighbour who moved to Goll Goll with his daughter rang just an hour after viewing the video. He has been there almost 18 months and hasn't been to Mungo himself yet.

The lunettes are formed of 3 layers. Zanci, Mungo & Gol Gol.
Its a great place to visit .. altho now world heritage listed and in control of the rangers. You can no longer stray from the designated tourist path. But there is a 70klm circuit (dirt/sand track) which circumnavigates the entire lunette and lake.
I usually drive around that and camp somewhere out of site and out of mind. But last time there a series of storm cells developed (unbelievable) and me and my mate had to hastily pack camp .. we ended up sheltering in the Zanci woolshed ... had just cooked a nice steak and eggs for brekky when the ranger caught us. Good Grief we copped it ... I tried offering him a steak sanger, and tho I could see his was tempted, it was no go and we had to move on immediately.
Sigh ... once it was deserted wilderness ...
thanx for your replies and compliments ... Greg
