The Sando! I've played there. Glad to hear they're still supporting young bands.

    1960s: Beatles
    Shadows

    1970s: The Saints
    Dead Kennedys
    Stiff Little Fingers
    The Clash

    1980s: The Rejects
    The Pixies

    1990s: Tool
    A Perfect Circle
    Jerry Cantrell

The Beatles & Shadows are obviously the odd-ones in there, and when some people check out my collection they can't believe it includes these two bands. I was born in that decade and my Mum was a big fan so she played them a lot while being a housemum. I reckon I was brainwashed - but in a good way!

    4. Guns n Roses
    5. Nirvana
    6. Midnight Oil
    7. Wierd Al Yankovich
    8. Short Stack ( a local band that are pretty awesome )
    9. Tenacious D
    10. Nickelback
I dont mind a bit of:
Dire Straits,U2 Brian Adams The Wiggles
Cold Chisel Panic! at the Disco AC/DC
    Silverchair Good Charlotte Green Day
Supernova ( rockstar ) Billy Joel
Elton John Bon Jovi Boney M
And a few others that i've missed, and of course i like several other songs form other bands but a lot of them only ever produce a few good songs and a couple great songs

I dont really like much new stuff, and dont really like listening to the radio much either. Dont know if its a phase i'm going thru but i seem to like the 80'2 and 90's stuff better than most of the new crap thats played now.

And some bands new stuff just doesnt compare to their older stuff, Silverchair and the RHCP are examples of this. IMO, Stadium Arcadium isnt as good as Californiacation ( i still havent heard BSSM yet. ) IMHO I think TH RHCP's best stuff is the 90's and early 00's ( BSSM - what i have heard of it, Californiacation, and By the Way. )

Difficult to select really. I'll list bands/musciians who have standout albums starting with (loosly) those with the most albums I love - or have songs on them I love (I find the best music is often on albums close to a cutting edge of my tastes so that some songs go over it)

Though first off - given my avatar - I guess I should start with
Lancelot Link and the Evolution Revolution - The true Monkeys.

    Tom Waits
The Chemical Brothers (plus the best video clips)
The Laughing Clowns (incredible driving off beat rock/jazz/??? - pity they didn't get decent production behind them)
    The (British) Beat
    Fishbone
    Leo Kotke
    Frank Zappa
    Miles Davis (earlier the better
    Frank Black
    Pixies
    Chillie Peppers
    Cruel Sea
    Stevie Ray Vaughn
    Green Day (best - Insomniac)
Coltrane (Live at birdland a standout for me)
    Egg
    Living Colour
    Dig

I'll stop there. I'm sure I've missed some though.

I know I am dragging out and old thread but just saw that Channel V are going to be featuring four up and coming bands, one of which is Short Stack. Congratulations to your son Pawnhead.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.
