Interested to know...What is your Favourite bands?
So what are your top ten Favourite bands or groups/people ( in music )
mine are:
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Metallica
- Blink 182
- Guns n Roses
- Nirvana
- Midnight Oil
- Wierd Al Yankovich
- Short Stack ( a local band that are pretty awesome )
- Tenacious D
- Nickelback
Dire Straits,U2 Brian Adams The Wiggles
Cold Chisel Panic! at the Disco AC/DC
Silverchair Good Charlotte Green Day
Supernova ( rockstar ) Billy Joel
Elton John Bon Jovi Boney M
And a few others that i've missed, and of course i like several other songs form other bands but a lot of them only ever produce a few good songs and a couple great songs
I dont really like much new stuff, and dont really like listening to the radio much either. Dont know if its a phase i'm going thru but i seem to like the 80'2 and 90's stuff better than most of the new crap thats played now.
And some bands new stuff just doesnt compare to their older stuff, Silverchair and the RHCP are examples of this. IMO, Stadium Arcadium isnt as good as Californiacation ( i still havent heard BSSM yet. ) IMHO I think TH RHCP's best stuff is the 90's and early 00's ( BSSM - what i have heard of it, Californiacation, and By the Way. )
cheers
sorry, i got side tracted lolS T I R L O

Jeez stirlo, you're sounding old before your time!!
I started running a list through me head and then discounted the ones that are a guy or gal with a backup band, 'cos these things change. It also shot my list down in flames , the likes of Paul Kelly, Van Morrison, KD Lang, John Butler etc, then drop the solo artists that I listen to heaps like Harry Manx, Robert Johnson...and stick to bands proper.
Sort of chronological:
Black Keys
Hilltop Hoods
Cruel Sea
Dave Graney & the Coral Snakes (well, the albums he did with that backing band )
Lil' Charlie and the Night Cats (had to include them)
...going back in time...
Midnight Oil
Cold Chisel
AC/DC
Pink Floyd
...used to listen to these nonstop, but rarely now...
Rolling Stones
Creedence Clearwater Revival
I find I've gotta keep moving, get bored with the sound of bands and their times, and keep listening for newer stuff. Bands come and go, the one constant though is the Blues, esp. old acoustic stuff, usually solo, I've listened to without getting bored for 30yrs
Cheers,Andy Mac
