    Have to be Daniel Lanois, but could be that he performed on these three albums, as well as production.

    Could be on the money there......he played and sang on the Emmy Harry Lewis album.(which I have), don't know if he gets a gig on the U2 stuff, and the soundtrack album was all his music, so maybe he played it all too.
