I have a DOD LS470W. Best for angle of view and picture quality especially at night. Can also take still pictures.
CHOICE also did a review in Oct 2017.

I will keep doing some research, I like the Idea of a High Temp resistant Cam, Plus the idea of a Capacitor instead of batteries, wi-fi is a added bonus, saves hiding cables.

Absolutely correct .... capacitors for Australian conditions ... it gets blood hot inside cars in summer ... batteries fail ... capacitors keep going.

Yes there are down sides with capacitors ... ie cant use out of the car without power source .... but they are more reliable and higher resistant to heat crash

The "You don't need anymore timber minister", now wants a "dashie" so I reckon I will go with John's suggestion of the "DOD LS470W", its cheaper than the thinkwave and not a lot of difference.

    Thanks for that John.

    Two possible solutions:

    1. Find a project that the "minister" would really like and show her the photo/plans and when she asks you to make it tell her you can't as you don't have any suitable timber to do the project justice.

    2. Buy some really nice timber and once the fallout subsides, make something really nice for the "minister" out of some of it. She will feel guilty for having a go at you for doing something for her.
I got sick of sitting around doing nothing - so I took up meditation.

Cheers Doug, if I make her a "bat" she would think I was taking the "p#%S", if i built her a lovely new box, I would get a slap, (perhaps I might have to be careful in the wording)

I have to come up with something "bootiful" - perhaps Clogs, a kick up the rectum with those will have a splintering effect.

I might surprise her one day, I am just doing some pens, so there is a good start, kingwood springs to mind.

The Minister knows I will keep collecting, it just doesn't go away, its worse than collecting camera lenses.
    Cheers

I got my dashcam, from my credit card reward system, some months ago .... it is still sitting on my desk.
If you take a look at Youtube, you will see how many dashcam users are involved in crashes or near misses.
So I am wondering if it is worth installing if it will attract all those other idiots that want to hit me or run me off the road.
    Wotchathink I should do ??????

Ok, installed the cam, rotten thing to connect to the mobile phone (i detest Mob phones, only through ignorance), trouble getting the app as i had to log into google, then it asked for a dashcam password for the Hi-Fi, i said out loud!

I think you have to create a new password, these reviews they do, don't explain the finer details or hassles, just giving you guys a heads up, but the dashcam forum is your first port of call.

    ps
Gmail, is a pain to log out of with Andriod phones unless someone knows a short cut they can pass on - Pleaseeeeee
