    Hi Greame

ABC were more along the lines that you and I will see a different price for the same item based on our browsing / shopping history.

If you have a history of searching for or buying Titan chisels, the "buy it now" price will be higher than for someone who is looking for the first time.
    regards from Alberta, Canada

Spot on Ian. When searching for prices online it's often best to use incognito mode in order to get the best deal. Works especially well for flights and accommodation.

I don't know that the you necessarily need a powerful grinder for a heavier wheel. A lower powered motor may take a few seconds longer to get a heavier wheel up to speed, but once it's spinning, it's the work you're doing - in other words how fast you're removing material - that requires power. You need a much lighter touch with less power, and the weight of the wheel is less critical than how quickly you're grinding.

    Hi Colin

I believe a 200 watt motor could be used, but you would need to spin the wheel manually before switching on. Even then I am not sure whether the weight of the wheel would place undue stress on the motor. The wheels I have are heavy. Let's say that the combination is far from ideal, and at best a short term strategy.

Incidentally, where about in South Africa are you? I am planning to be in Cape Town at the end of this year.

Agreed, I wouldn't choose to do it that way, but it should be (just) workable. You'd basically be treating the grinder as the consumable instead of the wheel. It could get you going, allowing you time to plan the upgrade.

I'm an hour or two from Durban, although I was in Cape Town last week - one of my daughters has been studying down there, and she should be graduating in December. At this point she's so sick and tired of her long hours in the lab that she never wants to see the place again, and says she's not going back for the graduation ceremony.
