I have a Worksharp and it is very good as far as it goes using either paper or diamond plates. It is faster than a Tormek and it has never failed to give me a sharp edge on the primary bevel but in the great big scheme of things it is screamingly slow compared to a CBN wheel if trying to establish a new bevel or rehabilitate a totally knackered tool. I follow the Worksharp bevel with a mini bevel on a 13000 stone as Derek does from the CBN wheel and I would think the results would be similar in how sharp that final bevel is. What I don't particularly like about the WS is if using it from underneath the disc the wear area is confined to a narrow band and the rest of the disc is still untouched, I took to using it from the top with a jig to overcome that problem and it gets exactly the same results and uses all the disc. The WS is not a great thing for rehabilitation of a chisel (for instance) but if the bevel just needs a freshen up then it works well.

Of course for a touch up I don't use any power tool. But when is needed a power tool, the Worksharp is the real deal. All depends on the grit in the diamond disk, it goes from 80 to 3000, wow lots of choice. If you use 3000 grit, it means it will become 6000 grit after 1 year. Also it stays always flat, and if you want you can lubricate with some water. All these diamond wheels can be attached to a Worksharp. But If you want to save money, just buy the cheapest drill with 1/2" chuck, to attach the diamond disks just buy a threaded adaptor (on ebay type "Drill Chuck Connector Adaptor Converter Threaded Shank 1/2" or 13mm), and make a wooden diy jig.
