Remember to move the blade over ALL the paper, and over the EDGE of the paper to ensure the paper wears as evenly as possible. Being somewhat clumsy I only use paper for very rough flattening - and then move to diamond plates that are and stay flat. But then I also use a Dremel to remove metal to speed the process
