Apparently Gregory are selling all their Jet stock in preparation for the Carbatec takeover as importer/distributor.
At $300 that Jet Wet Grinder is a good buy, some of the accessories are heavily discounted too.

I wonder who will import Powermatic now, or will C-tec import these as well.
I hear Powermatic will be upgrading/ redesigning their machines.

I bought one of these, plus a half dozen various sharpening jigs on Friday. (Today is Sunday.)
As someone said in a post elsewhere, you might as well buy all the jigs that you might want eventually as you are going to buy them down the track, anyway. Even more appropriate since all of the jigs are discounted in the Gregory Machinery sale also.
I have not unpacked it yet albeit I have watched the instructional video a couple of times. The video is pretty good but there are lots of comments on the internet about the lack of a decent instruction book and some people suggest buying the Tormek instruction book as the machines and jigs are very similar and the techniques are the same. (Of course, the Tormek enthusiasts poo poo any machine other than the Tormek but at the current Tormek sale price of $960 (RRP $1276!) for the equivalent machine, it is hard to justify not buying the Jet at the runout price of $300 plus $60 for the diamond truing tool which is a standard included accessory with the Tormek. )
There actually is an instruction book with the Jet but it is a bit ordinary and it is obvious that Jet thought that the video would be all that people want. However, last night, I happened across this ...
http://www.jet-tools.com.au/Protalk/Jet/JSSG-10.pdf
....which looks like it is the instruction book that they should have put in the box.
BTW, the Gregory Machinery showroom comprises mostly Jet products and even their vehicles have personalised number plates starting with "JET". It makes one wonder what they will have to sell when all of the Jet machines go.
