Rali plane blade resharpening
I have a couple of Rali planes that use disposable blades. I remember reading about some people resharpening their Rali blades a couple of times before disposing of them, or honing them to achieve much sharper edges than what they are supplied with.
These blades have two 48mm sharp edges , but are only about 15mm deep and 2mm thick; sort of like a thick but narrow razor blade.
What kind of jig would I need to use to sharpen them?

I vaguely remember seeing holders for spokeshave blades for use in honing jigs, maybe look into that.

This is what I came up with. It holds both sizes (48mm and 30mm) really securely. It is fiddly but not too difficult to get the bevel to be sharpened perfectly square in the holder. I cut the slot by hand using a Japanese pull saw with a kerf of about 1mm.
