Hi Drillit.
No the problem is not the flat grind, I prefer a flat grind as it happens.
I sharpened a couple of gouges and got the best edge I have ever had on a gouge. Cut timber beautifully with an almost flawless finish off the tool on pine.
My problem is that i had to make one part of the jig from wood and this gave me a bit of play that gives me a very slightly different shape on each side of the flute.
Now that I have proved the concept I have acquired a piece of aluminium bar to make a better boss. I should then be flying.
Will post pics when done.
