I've also got the Tormek jigs which are far better than the Seppach ones. Buying the Seppach jigs is IMO a waste of money , now where near as good as the Tormek. They are interchangeable but you need an adaptor to put the Tormek extra honing wheels onto it.
Peter. | Hello,
I have the Scheppach Tiger 2500, the adaptor you mention to fit the Tormek honing wheels. Where can I get this adaptor?
Cheers,
Peter. |

Peter. | I used a bit of hard plastic tubing found in my box of odds and ends, tapped it with both threads and works well. A metal one would probably be better, but then I would need access to a metal lathe.

| | Which One? Ok so the Tormek T7 is better than the Scheppach 2500, but its half the price, shouldn't we be comparing the T3 to the 2500? They are of closest value.
I guess the Tormek may have better build quality but isn't the Tiger deigned to be constantly ran, whereas the T3 is designed to be ran 30 minutes at a time?
Im interested because I'm either going to buy the T3 or The Tiger 2500, I'm stuck between the two.
Slightly off topic, but I have seen the Worksharp 3000 compared to both The T3 and Scheppach, I used one, sharpens well but has the grinding qualities of a rich tea biscuit! |

| | T3 has 40mm wide wheel, 8" diameter; closest in dimensions is the Tiger 2000.
The Tiger 2500 like the T7 has 50mm x 10" wheel.
Haven't seen specs on the duty cycle of Tigers.
When it comes to the choice, if you opt for the 2500 you should as others have posted go down and listed to one running and check the wheel run-out. Also check that all the bits of the jigs are in the boxes.
BTW I use WS abrasive discs for lapping on a homemade rig and have found them to be top quality. The coarse grades are seeded gel Alox IIRC. Can only say you must've been using a worn one.

| | If comparing on value then ok.
But the T3 is a smaller machine. Wheel size is 200 x 40 compared to the 2500 which is 250 x 50 and the motor sizes are different again 120W vs 200W.
Can't find any on the duty cycle of the 2000 or 2500.
