If you got the standard blade set then one of the blades that come with the Stanley 71 is a spear point blade.
Don't bother trying to get a hollow grind on that one. Just use a stone on the flats.

With respect hiroller, that link to Chris Schwarz (honing a flat bevel) has been superseded by his method of honing a backbevel on router plane blades. I do not support either method. The flat bevel is vulnerable to being honed out-of-square as it is difficult to balance the bevel of a router plane blade on a stone; the backbevel method is not recommended as it will affect the clearance angle eventually.

Contrary to the recommendation in the video not to grind, I believe that a hollow grind makes sharpening - and re-sharpening - router plane blades so easy. The hollow acts as a jig to balance the bevel. Further, it reduces the amount of steel to hone so that the process is quick, and there is less likelihood of getting into trouble.

The work is in setting up for a hollow grind. That is demonstrated in my first link (in a post above). But even the V-blade can be hollow ground ...
