    Default 070 stihl

An 070 stihl is being advertised for sale as a new saw never used and that the parts were made in West Germany and assembled in China, when i bought my first 090 there was no putting them together in China, the fella selling the saw says it brand new,the saw would be used on a slabber so the missing chain brake shouldn't be an issue.Does anyone know anything about 070's being assembled in China with parts made in West Germany ?.Thanks.

These new 070 have "made in germany" stamped/printed on them but are made and assembled in China and Mexico (see here). They are made to original specifications and apart from perhaps some minor quality control issues are perfectly good saws and make very good slabbers. The 070 is 6 cc less than the 076 but has more torque and you can run lower rakers than smaller cc saws.
