75mm or 90mm nails for treated pine framing
Hi to all
I'm enclosing one side of my garage/pergola with hardietex/blueboard prior to building an outdoor kitchen. Framing which is exposed to the weather on one side is 90x45 treated pine. The plan is to construct the framing on the ground using one nail to fix the studs to top and bottom plates and two nails into each end of the noggins. Each section of the framing will be lifted into position trued up and screwed to the existing hardwood posts, I then plan to skew nail each stud to the top and bottom plates, I already have a nearly full box of 75mm galv nails for my framing gun and would like to use these but a little voice inside me is saying they are too small, go and get a box of 90mm nails. My question is will the 75mm nails produce a sturdy frame if used according to plan or should I forget the skew nailing and just nail the whole thing up on the ground using 90mm nails. BTW my local bunnies doesn't seem to carry 90mm galv 34 deg nails, perhaps this is a hint. Any help is appreciated.

dont forget that pasolde gas gun only takes upto an 82mm nail not a 90mm like the old style air guns,
75mm ok for pine
82mm for hardwood. (as the timber is sawn not sized so its 5mm bigger all around)

Hi and thanks for the replies. I eases my mind a bit as I only have an el-cheapo Trade-air nail gun from bunnies and even though nail sizes are stated to be up to 90mm I have doubts that it would do it.
