Advice on CarbaTec Small Dusty needed
I went to use my Gifkins Dovetail Jig yesterday and set up the dust extraction.
I turned it on and off several times during the dovetail cutting and then it happened.........
nothing.
The motor on the dusty was making emphasemic whirrings but their was no fan action.
Finally It stopped.
I checked for blockages - none.
The motor was quite hot at the top and around the capacitor.
Before I go taking it into the motor doctors in town, have I missed anything obvious that I should check.
I tried it again today with the same sad result - about 5 seconds of feeble effort before it simply shut down.
I had to extend the hose on the other dusty as per photo.
More on my BLOG.... some old things are lovely

Could just be the start cap SG. The cheapest option would be to change it and see if it works. Take the capacitor or just the details off it to your motor doc.
Those were the droids I was looking for.
