Default advice on which shaping burrs to use

I am wanting to learn which shaping burrs to use on small projects. I am a metalsmith wanting to incorporate some lovely hardwoods into bezels and don't know where to begin. I have some small ebony squares that I want to shape and inbed metals, but I am making a mess of my first block with my small diamond bits. Can you help me?

    thx!!
