    AEG tools are made all over the world as they are owned by one of the worlds biggest manufacturers of tools Techtronic industries.
    Some of the models are still made in germany but unfortunately due to the consumer demand of price positioning some of the models have to be made in china. The main thing is that these products are getting made in a factory owned by Techtronic industries so the quality control is still there. Some of the AEG models are exactly the same as the Milwaukee models(also owned by techtronic industries) & those models are backed with a 5year warranty....now thats confidence in your product!!!!

    We have been warranty agents for AEG/Milwaukee for the past 15years & I can tell you the amount that we have had back for a genuine warranty claim would average out to approx 2-5 a month. We would get on average 10-20 calls a day for warranty claims of cheaper brand products....not mentioning any names so we dont end up in court

    I've heard that before. Somehow it just doesn't work that way (and you know it )

    I've always had a good run with AEG. But without doubt I'd look for the "Made in Germany" label. Or if I did buy a "Made in China" AEG, then I'd buy it as a "Made in China AEG tool" and expect it to be cheaper. Chinese manufacturing is improving by the year though, and it won't be long before we're looking for the "made in China" label in the same way that we look for "Made in Japan" now.

    in all industries it seems to be the same.Countries start off being poor at certain types of manufacturing & then the next make there way to what the previous was.

    germany->japan
    japan->taiwan
    taiwan->china
    china now to india as the new version of china.....now thas a worry

    I think now in certain industries/products china is bringing out some very good quality but its amazingly hard to communicate with them to get manufactured what you want

    I still cant believe the amount that comes out of china....almost 90% of every you turn upside down has a made in china sticker on it or made in prc

    These 14 and 18 volt lithium AEG cordless drills have over 60nm of torque which is almost twice the power of similar priced drills. Also the lithium 14v battery has 2A rating while the 18v battery is 3A which is also better than similar priced drills.

    I was close to buying one of these drills, but decided not to due to financial reasons, and ended up buying cheap second hand drill.

    Default Aeg

    I posted on this in a previous thread some weeks ago.

    I was in Bunnies and saw an AEG Li drill with good specs at a good price.
    On the way out noticed a fellow returning one for warranty claim.Had an optic over the counter and saw 6 or so that had been returned under warranty. Not a good sign , methinks.

    I also bought an AEG 240V model that blew smoke just after running out of warranty. Was most peeved. Not inclined to like AEG anymore, no matter who makes them.

    I bought a BSB STX 18V in the UK for $200 plus lifetime warranty on the batteries before coming out to Oz. It's been faultless so far and has done everything that as been asked of it, I'm wondering if they'll honour the warranty on the batteries tho should they start playing up

    Where did you here that??, i was in Bunnings last week & they still had 8 product lines in the new orange range of AEG. The Triton thing is completely different to the AEG as AEG has a strong industrial market following, like us bunnings was clearing the old blue range of AEG to make room for the orange range
