    Default Blade for SCMS

    Guys,
I have done the search and not much in the way about saw blades for SCMS.
I have the Bosch 10" SCMS and it came with a 60T blade. It is OK and does the work well most of the time. I do however want to get another blade and CMT seemed to be the logical choice as I have used in my Triton and now also in the 10HB. However, the CMT blades are 250mm and NOT 10" (254mm). This is a problem as the cut does not go all the way thru unless I add a sub fence, which is not always desirable.
Does anyone know of a very good 254/255mm 80T blade with arbor >= 25.4mm and is an actual SCMS blade (negative rake) that is available right here in OZ. Most others on the www (Freud, Forrest) have 16mm arbors.
    Regards
    Les

    Les:

The CMT 10" negative rake blade is what you are looking for! The blue boyz in Balcatta carry them.

Go and chat to your local saw service, they are uften worth a look.
If you are looking for a fine finish consider a blade intended for aluminium cutting. I have a pair of KOYO 100t which i use for cutting ally & ocasionaly for fine timber cutting.
running a zero clearnce sub fence is a good idea anyway for delicate work.
If the 250mm isn't cutting all the way thru ther may be an adjustment to fix that.

    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
