Bosch Power Tool Dealers Disappearing
Bosch tools seem to be disappearing off all the local tool seller websites.
Those that are still carrying them seem to be off-loading stock.
Any news on what is happening?

The local Gasweld staff in Penrith told me that Bosch have appointed Total Tools & Blackwoods as there sales outlets.
Don't know about Bunnings as Bosch advertise theough Better Homes & Gardens TV show.
They had a good size table of Bosch tools on "clearance"....
Very sad situation.

I expect it won't be long before Bunnies replace Bosch with their own Chinese-made knockoff brand....."Botch" tools anyone?

Maybe Bosch have realised that their reputation has gone through the floor by trying to compete with the cheaper brands and now they want to get it back by selling through more specialised dealers where they can afford to put better quality into them.

I wonder if it is the cut price retailing that has driven this. If there are only two retailers then the end price can be sort of controlled ala Festool without declaring the policy. Maybe Wesfarmers started to dictate terms they did not like and that would not surprise me at all.

Apparently not or at least not yet! TT were a cooperative group started by independent tool suppliers but it has morphed into a franchise operation today. I had forgotten that Wesfarmers owned Blackwoods and Blackwoods are big industrial suppliers more so than general retail ala Bunnings. Bosch have effectively killed the retail price cutting which is fairly clever as Blackwoods do not sell in that market at all. I bet the likes of Sydney Tools are not impressed!
