Default Carba-Tec Universal Folding Mitre Saw Stand

I am seeking feedback on the Carba-tec universal folding mitre saw stand. Any advice on this stand would be appreciated. Please see:

Looks very similar to the Dewalt stand of which I have and I find it very good.

Not that dissimilar to the Ryobi stand......which I happen to have. And don't mind either. The old man has almost the exact same one as the Carbatec unit and he's quite happy with it.

Incidentally, my local hardware shop has one of those DeWalt stands on sale for $199....
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Did you end up purchasing this mitre saw stand? I am very interested in buying this one, or one very similar to it.

    Also -

Is anyone else noticing the remarkably 'out of the same factory' look of these two stands. One is just DeWALT yellow... Am I wrong?

The dewalt just has the saw mounted the other way, and the photo is taken from the other side... Save yourself some cash.

How hard were you working them? When you say the dewalts seem to stand up a lot better, how long do they stand up? I don't want to but these every year. ( I'm a handyman/carpenter )

I am looking for one of these too but I want large wheels. There used to be a black unit on sale but I can't find it any more.

Here is a video on the subject. Its a bit slow, but it shows multiple different options, and its easier than driving around town looking at the same two models again and again.

Anyone know where one can get this guy:

He just clamps to a 2 by x and gets great reviews all over the net.
    I dont meant the guy!!

There are many different brands on the market at varing levels of quality and price. I suggest to Look at as many as you can make time for and look for the features that will work best for you.
I do have a dewalt unit which has served me well but I saw one sold by Total Tools which had some optional equipment to attach to it, eg large vice and a table with multiple 19mm holes in it as well as the stand itself had 3 or 4 powerpoints built into it. I would have bought their (total Tools) unit if I had seen it first.
Another point about the dwalt unit is if you plan to add more rests and alike, it can prove to be more expensive than doing so with some of the other units.
Good luck and I hope you are happy with whatever unit you buy.
    When in doubt PANIC!!!

they used every day for light framing ie 4x2 / 6x2, decking, floroing and fixout.

the fake ones seem to fall apart within a few months, i have two at my factory now just sitting there doing nothing.

I also have a hitachi saw stand which is a nice unit but was a bit more expensive.

one of my workers has a total tools brand bench that has wheels on it only problem is it does not fold down as small.

we were told by the carbatec reps they were the same as the dewalt ones so we got some in for customers, the quick release saw holder system is way different & they are definately not the same in quality, i think we have one somewhere in the warehouse that a customer returned as he didnt like the quality compared to the dewalt.

We took over 50 Dewalt stands to the last working with wood show in sydney a couple of weeks ago & i was stressing thinking that we were going to be bringing half of them back atleast.
Amazingly we sold out & took a further order for 15 more....save me tones of pack up & warehousing headaches

Checked out the Dewalt and an orange version amonst others before settling on the SIP stand. Got to test run the brother in laws for a few weekends first before buying. His father also purchased one. No dramas to report from any that were purchased between the 3 of us.

Am sure its rebadged with several other names.

Personnally I like rollers on a stand.

I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.

From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".
