Not necessarily, I bought something from carbatec in NSW on ebay. It was just something they were no longer stocking. and they were clearing. I got a lathe mounted wasp sander for $45!!!
But at the price that respirator is I don't think there will be many bidders

Good luck to 'em
I think that it should be encouraged. The respirator is starting at $60.00 cheaper than they advertise on their website. Sure it may not be the best respirator but its good to see a store that is putting something up for auction below rrp. There are many stores that post items at full rrp and hope that unsuspecting people will bid higher. The new website needs some fine tuning but it is early days and if they keep at it they should be able to produce quite an informative site.
The more stores that display their items on the web the better in my opinion. I find that if I can do some research on line first it makes the final purchase much easier as I often forget things when I go into the store (or cant find them

One of the reason why a mate of mine sells on ebay from his shop is for cheap advertising of his web site - so all the punters who look a the ebay item hopefully go to his website as well.

They need as much help as they can get, I was told they are trying to get there website sales up and running.
On Tuesday I bought a router bit through APworkshops website and have it in my hands now (friday) whereas I registered with Carbatec Melbourne on Wednesday too buy some of there router bits but am still waiting for the online password/authorisation to come through.
I phoned them on Thursday to find out what was happening and they said it will be sent to you on Thursday night, but still waiting in hope, maybe another phone call to them so thats why I say they need as much help as they can get.
Maybe I should give Carbatec a miss and buy from Timbercon, I might get better service.

Yes the page does look alot better than the previous version .... I would go as far to say even better than the QLD site.
Just out of interest radforms .... what, if any, is your connection to Carbatec Melbourne?

I'm going to be accused of beating up on Carbatec again, I know, but last time I checked, it was a breach of section 53C of the Trade Practices Act to advertise prices exclusive of GST, without also stating the total price inclusive of GST.

Ken - Do you have to find fault with everyone or is it just Carba-Tec.
If they are in breach of Section 53c then so am I and many, many others. Our Online Order is ex GST with a statement that 10% GST will be added for all sales made in Australia.
It's a hell of a lot easier for our Aussie buyers to add 10% than it is for our overseas purchaser try and work out the cost without the GST.
