    Default Coil decking nails

I've recently done a few decks using dome head screw shank coil nails, the only problem is that with about 1 in 20 nails a small (and sharp) piece of copper collation wire gets caught under the head of the nail and protrudes from the decking.
I've been removing them using needle nosed pliers but it's a pain.
I bought the nails at All Tools, they are a generic, probably Chinese nail, $65 for 3000.
Does anyone know of a brand of nails which don't have this problem?
    Thanks.

I didn't know you could get plastic collated nails in that size.
    Thanks, I'll check it out.

...best bet would be to visit your local Glenfords/Trade Tools.

    Thanks mate.
I bought the nails I'm using now at All Tools in Brooklyn but didn't see the Bostitch plastic collated version there.
What store are you buying them from?
    Thanks.

i wasnt aware that they cam ein wire collated , as they guys have said there is no problem with plastic collated only when the nails come loose from the plastic inside the gun. some manufacturers have very soft plastic and the nails almost fall out. most are ok tho. im sure you realise as well that the screw shank is for hardwood and ring shank for pine joists.

    Thanks Sol.
In the past I've hand nailed decking down to treated pine joists with screw shank nails, "Titadek" is the trade name from memory, and none of those have worked loose to my knowledge, at least I haven't had any callbacks on them.
To be honest I've never seen loose ring shanked decking nails.
I'll get hold of some plastic collated nails for the next one.
