    Default Dado Blade's

I am looking at buying some Bado blades. I see that Northwood has a set at a good price, can anyone please let me know how they rate them.

    Northwood $149.00
    Carbatec CMT $349.00
I know when buying tools it's best to buy the best if one can afford it. But $200.00 is a big difference and is it 130% better.
Other suggestions would also be appreciated.

    Cheers
    Peter

    Peter,
The Frued Dial -a Dado is arguably the top of the range and easiest to use, at US$249 still worth a thought.

    Cheers,

Depends on whether you have a 5/8" (US) or 30mm arbor (euro spec) - and the length of the arbor itself on which dadao stack you might be able to fit.

I have the CMT set. Lovely blades.

Whatever you get, buy them from somewhere locally if you can. The first set I got didn't fit and luckily I could return them.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Brett Looked at the link thanks looks good. works out at NZD$355 plus postage and then GST 12.5% = about $450 MMMMMM I think not.
Should have bought the Frued stackable in the bargine bin at the Brisbane show last year $199 AUD Bugger

Steve I have a Delta sawtable so 5/8 is the size of the arbour. I was sort of looking at the Northwood on price being on special so I just though mite be nice to have one of those. No use for one right now but you know what it's like when you need it and you hav'nt got it. And could use a router BUT!!!!!!
You know where I am coming from.

    Thanks guys
    Peter

Thanks Gumby in what way did it not fit? I assume that it was the hole size just to tight a fit.
I had that problem with a blade, was to tight a fit so just used a rat tale file to take a nats ###k off, they were some cheep blades that were given to me.

    coedcae,
I have the avenger 6" dado blades from Northwood (had a surf I don't think that they sell them anymore) and they suit my purposes well enough for a hack like me that is still getting his feet wet in the woodworking caper.

Just one thought though I remember reading in a woodworking book on table saws (can't remember which one and this is why I got a 6" set) that if your table saw is about 1 1/2 hp to get a smaller set as it puts less stress on the motor or some other technical biz.

Have had no problems with them being smaller as for me unlike a normal blade (ripping/crosscut) I don't raise the stack more than 12mm anyway.

    Hope this helps Jason

Ther was an error in the bore size milling. Some of the blades went on OK, others not. They tested them in the shop and found the holes weren't round.
