Default DeWalt Cordless Nailer 2pce Combo Kit

Just interested in people's view the Dewalt combo kit. I plan to use it for renovations and working around the house, building extension etc. I'll also take it to NZ to use.
I'm not that interested in the Paslode gas kit but more the cordless variety.
Is there better alternatives to this combo kit? Comments welcome.

Are you aware that larger watt/hour (as fitted to cordless power tools) rated Lithium batteries are prohibited on all international (& probably domestic by now) flights? They can't even be posted overseas or imported these days. They're way too fire-prone & dangerous to allow onto aircraft, where the catastrophic risk is of course exponentially greater than alternative means of transport.

I'm sure many of us can recall those infamously spontaneously combustive lithium powered hoverboards that were banned only a few years ago. Just imagine the consequences of a similar incident mid-flight! All those innocent victims....

You could of course take the naked tools & either buy some "disposable" batteries or preferably hire some over there in "EnZud".

Thanks for raising this issue, I looked into it before but totally forgot about including this issue in my OP. The tools come with 2 5.0Ah batteries which are 90Watts-hour (5 x 18V). From Casa Australia. If the battery is installed in your device, then it can be as check in luggage. But as spare batteries, you can take them as carry on luggage because they are under 100Wh. https://www.casa.gov.au/standard-pag...fely-batteries.
The FAA has a more graphical presentation of what is and what isn't allowed: https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org..._batteries.pdf
My own experience tells me that I will always take the batteries out of the tools and take them as carry-on. If your check in luggage has batteries, they are likely to want to open your bags and have a look which could either result in delays checking in or worse still, have your bags cut open.

I recently travelled to NZ for work. Yes they check your batteries but only off their guidelines on the screen .... I happily took 3 X Milwaukee 4Ahr batteries over - in carry on with tape over the terminals as required.... Not an issue at all.

The DeWalt guns - I have had both for about 2 +years. I hate the idea of buying gas so decided to try the alternative. As a carpenter I run air whenever possible (and I can't see that changing in the future)...air is king

The framing gun is a little slower to shoot than a Paslode, and the punch isn't quite as hard but it's still a useful gun. If I was to purchase again I would probably opt for a gas gun again (the max is my favorite) as the DeWalt isn't 'quite' there but I'm talking in a commercial sense - for home use I think it would be fine.

The fixing gun is quite a little ripper.... The Paslode fixer always had problems (in general, not just mine)....
I find the DeWalt misfires a lot less . It punches ok for a cordless (again air is king) and it's fine for a fix as long as kd jambs or hardwood skirts.
They also won't fire through cement sheet (eaves) if you're looking at doing quad.
I'd get the fixer again, as as said before, probable not the framer

I recently bought the Hitachi cordless guns. Framer and 15 ga fitout gun.
The framer is an absolute brute and easily is the most powerful cordless gun I have used. Unfortunately the fitout gun was faulty out of the box and I’m currently waiting on it being repaired. I have owned 5 dewalt fitout guns and admit to being quite disappointed in the newer offerings as I’ve had a few issues with broken driver blades and constant misfires. A few chippies I know that have had the dewalt framer are not very happy with them.

Would the fitout gun be a DA or C series gun?

What type of nails does the hitchai nailers use, especially the framer? Are they easy to get anywhere?

Framer takes standard 33 degree framing nails, the same as the paslode, senco etc. The main difference is price as no gas is needed dropping the price of nails from around $72 for paslode to around $24 for a box of 3000.
