Default Dremel 4200, anyone else having problems?

HAd some gift vouchers given to me and decided to use it to replace my old burnt out Dremel.

Got the 4200 for no other reason than the power, 175W versus 120 or so. Was not interested in the new EZchange chuck but oh well. only one choice if I wanted the 175.

Well, half the bits don't fit, unless I want to use inordinate force I guess. And when fitting the flex wand, which I use most of the time, wow, we get pretty rattly operations.

Anyone else have negative experience with this new Dremel before I try swapping it over?

I reckon the Dremel range seems to be getting even more unreliable over time.
I went though a Dremel replacement last year, see Dremel not working

As I'm not a big Dremel user, and I didn't like the look of the 4200, I managed to find an earlier model for a bargain basement price.
If this had not been the case I probably would have moved onto something else.

As far as the Dremel flexy wand is concerned, my experience is their wands robs a lot of the power from the drive unit even from the more powerful models.
If you are a big user of flexible drives they I would forget Dremel and look at something like a Foredom or similar which are dedicated flexible drive machines and much more efficient at delivering power to the work.

Thanks Bob, yes, that was something I really noticed, the seeming lack of power with the wand, and the heat buildup around the neck of the wand at the Dremel end even after only 3 minutes work.

Leaning towards just taking it back. as it was bought on the basis of some gift vouchers someone gave me, I was also tossing up with getting myself a trim router, and the Makita looks the best of those. (I've got a lot of AEG stuff 18 volt, but for the money the cordless trim router doesn't really stack up)
