    Default Elektra Beckum TS250

Has anyone had any experience with this table saw? I saw it on the just tools website. They have it listed for $890. I'm in the market for a table saw but have a distinct lack of space. Am tossing up going down the triton road, but thought this might be an alternative. Electra Beckum = Metabo???

Both companies are now of course owned by the same corp. Metabo tablesaws seem to be phased out as nothing appears listed on the website but the last avail catalogues showed both brands as being very similar. EB product is excellent, i use the pk200 which is very compact , quiet and very accurate and can be added to later with the extension and slide. I cant find the model you mentioned as listed over here but the quality will be excellent also.
Cant comment on triton as ive never used it but i think its based on a system rather than a dedicated saw , apologies if im wrong, which for some reason is less favoured over here. each to their own i suppose.
the EB 200 over here can be picked up S/H for around £400 with extension. £800 new aprx if thats any help.

    Thanks BeeJay

The saw I'm looking at is on www.justtools.com.au. Table saws are listed under the machinery category. It may be marketed with a different model number elsewhere.

I haven't used any triton stuff either, I've only used dedicated gear in the past. You're right triton is a system, if I went for the triton it would be for the portability and versatility, particularly with my lack of space.

The EB saw looks pretty compact and may be a better option.

Andrew, ive just had alook at that saw and it doesnt look like any of the current range of EB saws avail over here. It says that its a new model and that could be the case but it looks as if its made in China for EB. The body looks plastic and eb saws are mormally metal. The fence is not their normal one on small saws and the mitre guage is different.

Could be EB switching production to cut costs and hit more competetive price point, which is fine, and if the QC/QA is managed to appropriate standards in the factory, then it could be fine.
I have to say however that the saw looks almost identical to quite a few other budget units coming out of the far east so I would check a bit more. Sorry if this has confused you.
