Which GMC Biscuit Joiner to buy?
I was in Bunnings looking for a biscuit joiner and there were two GMC models, the BJ110 ($165) and the BJ110M ($149).
Only difference I could see was that the BJ110M was more powerful.
Can anyone advise if one is better than the other in some way?

I think one is more powerful than the other .
Are there any other brands around that price that will last longer than they will?

I was intending to make a similar decision regarding a GMC Biscuit Joiner. The deciding factor was the change in warranty arrangements, it made a manageable/reasonable risk into an unreasonable risk....The extra $100 for the Dewalt next to it.

Obviously the people putting down the GMC biscuit jointers are doing so out of habit rather than actual experience with the machines.
Biscuit jointers are not really high tech equipment and for the actual work that a biscuit jointer gets the GMC ones, particularly the later models, do a fine job, as any owner of one will tell you.
This is the only bit of GMC stuff I have ever considered worth buying.

I've had one of the BJ110's since they first released them (I think more than 2 years ago). I find it a treat to use and have had no problems with accuracy.
The only two issues I've had are :
1. The "dust" extractor port can get blocked when using the supplied bag - not a problem though, when using a dust extractor fitted to the port.
2. Sometimes the startup kick from the motor can move the joiner slightly - again, not a significant issue.Cheers.
Vernon.

Never been able to understand all this GMC bashing. I reckon they are a fantastic company providing all the tools and products at a dirt cheap price for all of us to enjoy woodworking (apart from their cheap cordless drills )
Haveno that magnesiun GMC was reviewed by Dean and gave the thumbs up. For the $$$$ go for it
PS- Hows the pocket holer

Actually I reviewed the original BJ110 model, not the magnesium model, but they are pretty much the same except for the magnesium and extra power in the motor (which isnt really needed anyway).
Here's the review of the BJ110 if you want to take a look:
