Default GREX and CADEX 18 & 21 Guage Finish Nailers

    Hi All,

My old Senco brad nailer is on its last legs after a hard life. I'm looking to replace it with another air nailer and have seen the Grex and Cadex brad nailers that are available in the US of A. I managed to get my hand on both of them while I was in Hawaii earlier in the year and was super impressed with the build quality and design(should have bloody brought one!). I'm wondering if anyone has one and where they got it from, either in Australia or from a International supplier.

I've been through the whole cordless/ battery operated nailers option before. They just haven't lasted or performed well enough for my liking, the air tools just seem to consistently sink nails to a proper depth in all materials.

If you can't find one here in Aus, just grab one at any online store that ships, and have it sent to a freight forwarder.

It might cost a bit more, but at least you'll end up with a quality unit that'll last you a while

A quick google search shows that one of the forum sponsors carries Grex

Those were the droids I was looking for.

If you're not set on Grex, Airco made rock solid nailers for half the price. The place I used to work had them and they took all the abuse you'd expect from a production environment without missing a beat. They also were running on 140-150 psi air, despite being recommended for 60-100, with no issue.

Yeah I've been running an older hand me down Senco, same company as Airco I think, but my old girl has had its day. I was just annoyed to find out that the Senco FIP25xp is in the region of $700. Ive spoken to a few people about the quality of Senco's tools and everyone has said the XP models are the ones to buy.

You can get some parts for the old Senco guns. They are not hard to pull apart. Try ereplacementparts for list of part numbers then check eBay for better prices - if part is available.
I had some luck in the past with parts for an SN1 but now it needs a part that is no longer available.
