Hitachi B16RM Drill Press
Hi everyone,
Today I picked up my new Hitachi Drill Press, after reading various posts discussing the merits of different brands. The machine was assembled & on display in the store where i checked it over & heard it running. After playing with it for a while at home i noticed that the 3 pulleys appeared out of alingment horizontally.
On closer inspection with a straight edge, by holding it horizontally across the top of the motor pulley & extending it over the other 2 pulleys:
Intermediate pulley, level on 1st. side / 2mm low on opposite side
Spindle pulley, 7mm low on 1st. side / 8mm low on opposite side
This is certainly not an acceptable way to set up belts / pulleys.
The machine runs very quiet with no vibrations.
I would be interested to know if there are any other owners of this drill press who have noticed the same problem, and how you delt with it.
Regards
Alan
