How does this work?
Hi All,
I've got hold of a Ryobi Drill/Driver model D-1015.
It has a knob on it just under the chuck, that you can twist 180 degs. At one end (the drill end) the drill seems to operate normally. At the other end (the driver end) nothing happens ... that is to say, that the drill motor still runs, but the chuck doesn't turn.
Any ideas on what this knob is supposed to does exactly ... and how it is supposed to work.Cheers.
Vernon.

Vernon as the symbols indicate one way is for drilling and the other way is for driving screws and most screwdrivers don't turn until pressure is put on the chuck in this case.

Thanks Barry ... seems so obvious now that you've pointed it out.
Cheers.
Vernon.
