Why does my jigsaw not cut inline with the body?
I have a ryobi cordless jigsaw. I got two blades with it - a thin one and a wide one (not wide kerf but wide between teeth and back edge).
I notice that with the wide blade, the jigsaw really wants to pull to the left. As in, I have to angle the centre-line of the body way off my cut line to remain on the cut line. I’ve double checked and the blade is inserted properly and the jigsaw is on the correct cutting setting (ie little dial picture is for a straight cut). This issue is much less apparent when using the thin blade, but still there.
Then I noticed in this steve ramsey video his appears to do the same (1:31 in Milling boards from an old pallet, without a planer or jointer - YouTube)
Is my jigsaw just ? Or am I doing something wrong? Or is that just par for the course with jigsaws?

Most jigsaw have this trait, follow the cut line with the blade and not the body.

Jig Saws are not good for straight lines, they are ok for shapes and the thicker the material the worse they become, the other problem can be when you try to correct your cut to follow the line you may get under cut which again is more problematic with thicker material.

The cheapest circular saw you can find will still cut a more reliable straight line than a $1000 jigsaw

Thanks. Wasn't sure if it was user-error!
I definitely experienced the undercut issue when trying to correct it.
