Default Light dimmer for angle grinder speed control

Hei Guys,
Is it possible to use a light dimmer as a speed controller for an angle grinder or doesn't it work that way.
I want to slow down my 4inch angle grinder so I can use it with a buffer pad to polich the alloy wheels on my car.
Cheers
Paul

Light dimmer cannot handle the power of a 4" angle grinder.

You can get plans for a speed controler on this web site.
