Sorry but I'm going to try!
I'm a chippie, I'm a big fan of Makita. About 70-80% of my power stuff is Makita.
But their drills arn't a patch on their competitors. I've burnt out a few drills over the years and personally I think only 2 stack up when talking hammer drills, Hilti or Bosch. Hilti is probably out of reach or u
nnecessary for DIYers, so that leaves Bosch, blue of course. A mate works at a powertool shop that also repairs tools, so I get to find out whats good and bad. A fews years ago Makita produced a $300 rotary hammer drill. Being a rotary hammer drill below $400 and branded Makita they sold shedloads, but soon after shedloads of them came back for warranty repairs. He now tells anyone willing to listen to steer clear of Makita hammer drills.
I'm sure gerhard can give you the run down on Blue Bosch drills.
