Makita RP2301FC - anyone care to comment? looking for user reviews.
hi all,
Having bought a german router ,OF1400 or something, for a cool $1100.00 and have now had about 6 hours of use with it, i still cannot get my head round the stupid handle position and the way the dust extraction pickup mounts.
its killing me, as i really wanted to like this router. i love the systainer, i think they are awesome, i love the micro adjust fence, and to some degree the dust extraction and copy rings that click into place. The power cord that detaches is a cool feature too, however i have forgotten to pack it away with the router a few times.
I am looking at maybe trying to recoup some of that money by selling it and put it into a Makita router instead. However i dont want to go taking a hit for the first router and then buying the second one and seeing it too is a lemon.
Does anyone have first hand experience with the RP2301FC? it wont be used in a table setup, it will be purely hand held, and mainly used for cutouts and trenching of HMR and MDF typically found in kitchen cabinet materials
Thanks
GP
