Default Saw Measurements - Help Needed With Homework Please

Hi, I have some woodwork homework to do, and need to have it completed by Monday 01 May. Please can someone tell me the how many saw teeth per 25 ml are on the blades of the following saws: Band Saw, Tendon Saw, Light Back Saw & a Coping Saw. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks so much - Homework Boy

    Hi
I think your teacher is having a lend of you, or is completely dumb.
TeathPerInch can vary from 1 to lots.

First, teeth per inch (T.P.I.) are measured in millimetres (mm) not millilitres (ml). Secondly, butchers or doctors may use a tendon saw, woodworkers only use tenon saws.

Lastly, since it is homework, I think it best to provide a reference rather than an answer, otherwise we may become net-nannies for woodwork classes and you will all probably fail!

So, here is a good reference:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saw

If you want to find more, search for teeth per inch rather than teeth per mm, it is much more common.

    Good luck.

    Now now
We're not going to do your homework for you BUT,

check out the carbatec web site

    www.carbatec.com.au I think.

you'll have more funn looking round in there than just finding the necessary information. and you'll be doing your homework

BTW there isn't one correct answer to any of those questions there are a range of tooth pitch sizes available for all saw blades.
If you are keen you could get at least two pages out of that one.

teachers give homework.... get your own back ... geive em something to read.
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

    OMG!
Once upon a time I could nearly answer that question, now, I can't remember. Pretty strange question though.
Rip saw = 6 teeth per inch ??
Cross cut = 8 teeth per inch ??
Panel saw = 12 teeth per inch ??
    Am I anywhere close?
Teeth on Band saw varies pending on what it's for as with a coping saw.
I think a tennon saw has 16 teeth to the inch.
I don't know what a light back saw is
Give them all 16 teeth to the inch, near enough to 25mm.
    Blame me if you flunk
So, how good is my memory.

Perhaps the text book issued at the start of the year that you were told to read has the answers
If not then somewear in your teachers lectures he mentioned the correct answers and as you were listerning you will have no trouble , i'm sure in recalling

As a ex lecturer I can attest that the answers are always given during lectures or are in the recommended reading......... somewear
The only time a problem occures is when Questions are set elsewear that don't follow the stated ciriculium

I would not believe anything anyone says on this site. The people that frequent this site have a very keen nose for anyone "looking for someone to do their homework for them" and are liable to give you wrong information. Don't trust them - go to a library, or look elsewhere.

Also - how do you know you can trust me ???

Even Groggy was wrong, surgeons use a trepan not a tendon saw
