Best places in Melb to buy tools
Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here, so please be gentle... and I hope I have put this in the right place.
I'm just getting into woodworking, and I'm just wondering if people could suggest a few places that are good (besides Bunnings) for checking out ranges of tools and prices?
My brother used to work at Bunnings, but he selfishly quit without thinking about me and using his discount so I figured I should use to opportunity to shop around a bit more. I was going to get a Ryobi sliding compound mitre saw (for $299) from Bunnings, but thought I might put a quick post on here to see if anyone had some suggestions. I wanted the Makita, but couldn't justify the extra $200, figured I should put it towards some other tools seeing as I'm just starting out.
Thanks,
Yael

Thanks guys for all your suggestions.. I've book marked them all and I have a feeling that I know where the next 20 tax returns are going.
You know you have issues when you go around to your brother in laws and start drooling when looking inside his shed...

Audel in Dandenong; often have some good specials.
They're a branch of United Tools.
If you know specifically what you want, do a Google. Prices can vary a lot. Sometimes even with postage it's cheaper to buy from Sydney Tools.Cheers, Ern
