Default Metabo Cordless SBZ vs BSZ

I have been looking at the Metabos for a new Li-Ion cordless dril but can't really work out the difference between the SBZ 18V and the BSZ 18 V. Only difference I can see is 20 torque settings on the BSZ and 5 on the SBZ.

Am I missing something here? Anyone have any experience with these?

Ive got the BSV 14.4......a finer cordless drill has no been made IMHO....and I've had a few.

I dont know about the SBV - check to see that it has the brake and 2 speeds and reverse.
Unless you're a tradie doing repetitive work I think that the 14.4 is a better drill as its lighter and less tiring especially when you are using it above your head,

Thanks, Bleedin Thumb. I currently have a 12V (brand name withheld to save my embarrassment). I am not a tradie and I am not even an experienced wood worker, it just isn't coping with even simple things and I was of the opinion that 18 V would be the go. I'll look into the 14.4.

My heart is still tugging me towards Metabo and Li Ion...Not many of them blow up, do they?

I just had a look on-line. It would seem that there is only 0.05g and $50 difference between the 18V and the 14.4.

    This is not getting easier!

    Default Outcome

In case anyone is interested (and as a bit of a plug for Metabo), after much vacilation and negotiation with SWMBO, I bought the Metabo SBZ 14.4. I was not sure that I would notice much difference over my old drill but, I have to say, it is extraordinarily good. I am very impressed

Thanks for the help, Bleedin' Thumb.

I've got two metabo 12v cordless drills, but not lithium. I love them . Same power as a mate's 18v gmc but much lighter and sooo much sexier.
    Cheers

    yep
Metabo BSZ range — cordless drills
Metabo SBZ range — cordless impact drills

If you are looking to get a Metabo, also look at the SSP12 — cordless impact driver
but you'll need a set of hex shank bits if you also want to use it as a drill
