I have had Fein for more than 20 yrs and they are bomb proof. And the most recent one i bought some 5 years ago is the more powerful unit. If i was to buy a new machine it would be the Festo as i think the attachments are very well thought out. Basically someone has seen some things the Fein needed but weren't addressed. But i really think the Fein is very hard to beat for just being a tough dependable tool.

Used my Fein MM on replacing kitchen tiles after a recent kitchen remodelling, as well as putting in some extra GP electrical outlets. They are great for those small tasks around the home but should'nt be considered for large tasks.
Like anything out of Germany they are well made and a quality tool,if you want to buy once this tool is costly however you have it for a lifetime.Johnno

I've had my Fein for couple of decades and it's absolutely bomb proof. Get the best - get a Fein
For an entertaining review of how it's constructed see this video

I have just received my new Multi Tool
A Bosch GOP 40-30.
Uses the same great tool connection as the Fein.
Tough tool.
Quiet, low vibration.
Haven't used it much yet.

my mutitool died last week. It was a rennovator brand, it did 100 odd hours of work before the transmission gave in. suprisingky did better than i thought it would. Don't get the their paint roller system, ehhh.
It did everything from cutting alluminium curtain rods, tile and tile glue removal, skirting board and plaster cuts..looking at a corded Makita, seems to be good balance and price and quality.

I bought a Bosch GOP300SCE.
Minimal use and purchased to install a floating floor to neatly cut door jambs etc. has had minor jobs since.
The tool release mechanism failed and I took it to the local power tool repairer.
Replacing the head is the recommended fix.
The cost of repair exceeded the price of a new top of the line model Makita corded.
The makita is on order.
