    Default Poor service.

Have recently had a power tool break down, only a minor commonly replaced part but the run around and lack of service I received from the Australian distributor left much to be desired.
Given the distributor had the part in stock, I ordered and paid for the part on the 13/10/08, received a receipt about a week ago and am still waiting for the part.
A phone call yesterday resulted in me being told the part has not yet been shipped, oh and for all of this I paid $12 freight for an item that weighs about 10 grams.
Am I unhappy? you bet, and will I buy another of this makers products?
Would have identified the maker but after reading the sticky re legal implications at the start of this forum decided to hold off.
    Cheers,
    Jon.

A warning that does not name names isn't very useful, I would think that expressing an opinion, which you can support with facts is okay, but I am not a lawyer. Why not run it past Neil, the bloke who wrote those rules?

_I_ would like to see a product review, of the product and of the service. I think it's as reasonable for a review to point out the bad points as it is the good points: otherwise, how can one tell whether Freddy's Fine Flattener isn't reviewed because nobody's bothered, or because it's crook, or Clem's Clever Clamper which is reviewed has some bad points not mentioned?

Neil might decide to go with it, and if he decides to go with it, he might invite the other party to contribute too.

It would also allow others to recount their experiences which might support yours, or show your experience as atypical.

I for 1 am wanting to know as it could be a deciding factor on a future purchase.
Is there a difference from telling the boys down the pub to telling the good peoples on this forum?

Neil's warnings are to alert users that they will be held responsible for what they say. A post that states facts and does not digress into an emotive diatribe against a vendor is unlikely to be a problem.

If the member posting assumes that what he says will have to be defended in court there should not be a problem. If in doubt approach the moderators for their review before posting.

Just bear in mind that if something is true, but cannot be supported with some kind of evidence you may run into difficulties if challenged.

Since the original post in this thread I have purchased an 18 volt cordless drill from Bunnings, the salesman tried to steer me toward Ryobi I rejected his suggestion and told him why, he then showed me a Swedish made Bosch with 2 x 2.7 amp hour batteries for $295, I bought the Bosch.

You have been asked nicely to keep it on track. You haven't, so I will.

All posts not on topic are being deleted. If you wish to continue the argument about language do so in Nothing to do Woodwork. It is down near the bottom.

Be warned though that if it gets personal as this has they also will be deleted.
