This old Whirlpool thread is also relevant.
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1066165
From reading that thread, if all went well with your purchase you would have been ahead. But, if there was any issue with the item it is going to cost you one way or the other. The high cost of postage 'back' to China seems to be a deterrent that is used as part of their business model.
Derrick, if you can get PayPal to cover the cost of returning the incorrect item to China and the seller also refunds the cost of the incorrect item you will have the satisfaction of coming out square, at least on terms of the $s.
That doesn't cover your time or efforts in achieving that outcome or change the underlying fraudulent nature of this seller's business model.
I do not think it unreasonable that a seller requires the return of goods that the buyer claims to be incorrect or faulty. This seller even indicates it may cover the cost of doing so if "it is proved that the return is a result of our error". Who adjudicates on that is another matter.
HOWEVER, the underlying fraudulent nature of this seller's business is that it claims to be an Australian business. Is it registered with ASIC? If so, a complaint through consumer affairs might save others from having to suffer from their fraudulent representation.
But, I can understand if you have had enough of this by now, Derrick.

A slight tangent, is there a post on this forum which lists which companies not to deal with?
If not, would one be allowed? Each entry would need to link back to a thread explaining why they are on the list.

I’d be surprised if one were allowed. The forum would open itself to a certain amount of legal liability if a supplier named on that list were to object and take legal action, and the forum can hardly be expected to go into each case in the same depth that a court would to ensure that they are not exposing themselves to risk. Even if they did, there is no guarantee that a court would reach the same conclusion.

Hi Derek,
(You're using power now ?????? )
LI-on is the go now; for $200 or so you'd get 2 maks (one of which would be an impact driver; trust me once you use an impact driver you WONT go back).
cool to see you're still here....

Zed, while I do have a collection of 20 year old power tools I also have a few more recent ones, including a Festool C12 (10.8v) ...
The battery under discussion is for a 20 year old 12v Panasonic ...
This is a fantastic drill. It weight 200gms more than the Festool, has a similar balance (a reason I purchased it in the first place), and has a lot more power.
My plan has been to move from Ni-Cd batteries to Ni-Mh, which is where this thread began.
I think I mentioned that, after Paypal initially found in favour of the Seller (and before they reversed this decision), I found another Seller on Amazon and purchased 2 Ni-Mh 3000mAh batteries. They arrived in 2 days. They work perfectly.
Now I had contact from the Seller (as a result of this thread!) ...
Dear Derek Cohen,
Thanks for your last order and really sorry for the trouble has caused for you!
As for compensation, how about we arrange Australia Post ship another one new 12V Ni-Cd 2000mAh drill battery
to you free of charge? Please advise, thank you. We will email you our AU warehouse return address with RMA#
if you not accept us send another one new power tool battery to you.
By the way, we have noticed you post thread on following link
Do NOT purchase batteries from this company!
We are really sorry for the trouble, would try our best to solve this issue.
Look forward to hear from you
Cheers & Best Regards
Christine

Hi Christine
Thank you for contacting me. I am not clear on what you are suggesting.
I understand that you are offering to send me another 12v 2000 Ni-Cd battery as a gift. That is a nice gesture. Thank you, but it is the wrong battery and not the battery I ordered.
The battery I ordered was a 12v 3000mAh Ni-Mh. (You sent me a 12v 2000mAh Ni-Cd in error - see attachments below).
Please send a 12v 3000mAh Ni-Mh and confirm if you will do so.
Thank you.
Regards
Derek Cohen
It is evident that the Seller is trying to make good.
There is more ....
The Seller contacted me again ...
Hi Derek Cohen,
Thanks for your prompt response!
There is error info on the webpage, we will update the 12V, 3000mAh Ni-Mh to 12V, 3000mAh Ni-Cd. Sorry for the mistake.
We have confirmed with the battery manufacturers, the replacement battery fit for Panasonic EY6100FQKW cordless drill
are Ni-Cd batteries, no Ni-Mh Panasonic EY6100FQKW batteries in market.
Checked our latest stock, we only stock the 12V, 2000mAh Ni-Cd cordless drill batteries. How about we arrange Australia Post
ship another one new 12V Ni-Cd 2000mAh battery to you free of charge? Thank you. And for a goodwill, we would offer you the
best price for your future orders(e.g.: heavy duty 14.4V, 4500mAh NiMh iRobot Roomba 500 series vacuum cleaner battery
we would like to offer you at the best price AU $29.79 and provide AusPost fast free shipping for you).
Look forward to hear from you
Cheers & Best Regards
Christine
I wrote back one more time ....
Hi Christine
I will accept another 12v battery and call it done.
If you did not have the 3000mAh Ni-Mh battery in stock, you should have informed me, and not sent me a battery I did not order. 2000mAh is a smaller capacity battery than I presently use. This is why I asked for my money back.
For the record, there are indeed such batteries being sold on the market. I have purchased two, at $48 each (free shipping), and they were delivered in 2 days!
Regards
Now I will wait and see what happens. I'll let you know.
Regards from Perth
Derek

It is worth keeping paypal honest by making use of their disputes tools and persevering until they capitulate. The "must return the item" is a favourite, but once you manage to get a human in the act, they realise the stupidity of spending 20 dollars to return a 2 dollar item, especially when it was wrong in the first place.
Just takes 27 emails, 15 photos and about 20 hours of your time.
Which is why the negative review works so well and saves a lot of time and trouble

24th March 2019, 09:16 AM #38Derek, I researched this vendors site a few months back and I'm not surprised that "There is error info on the webpage."
From memory they also make claims on several pages that the NiMh batteries can be charged with the OM's NiCd battery chargers. They could but it is not advised as it would create an overcharge on the NiMh batteries.

This is how the experience ended up ...
The Seller contacted me, apologised, and sent me a second Ni-Cd battery as a gift (they do not stock NiMh batteries for Panasonic, which I ordered originally). The battery arrived yesterday. It's good, and will go into storage until needed.

I have just had a very bad experience with this seller also. Ordered a laptop battery. Nothing arrived and no tracking number.
After over a month of hearing nothing I contacted them and asked what was happening they said it was an old battery and not available - it took you a month to tell me this? Seriously? And they then suggested I might want some other battery instead for a vacuum cleaner. Yeah right.
They refunded my money, but only after I chased them up.
And the listing for the battery I first ordered is still up on their website even though they don't have it.
I have to wonder if their business model is to list a zillion batteries which they don't actually stock, get your money, then hope that it will take you ages to follow them up and in the meantime they have your money on investment.
