Nice work garageman. I love the video and how you sped up sections of it during the process. I, too am looking for an upgrade. My Rockwell 305mm scms has served me well but I crave the accuracy of the better brands.

    $499 at Bunnies . . . I got one a couple of weeks ago

Good vid, I too had fun getting the machine out of the box.

I've just got to remember that it does have a laser and to use the blessed thing, instead of the tablesaw or Bandsaw.

I have the ryobi scms and it sits out of the way unless I am rough cross cutting treated pine or some such !

The reviews for the 1017 seem mixed, so be careful - check other forum posts on the topic
The green Makita is a Maktec badged for Bunnings. I bought a Maktec CMS a while ago; some of the parts (including the blade) are Makita.

My only problem with the Maktec is it's a CMS, not a SCMS.

I've seen a couple of LS1013s go at auction recently for around $450+buyers premium (auctioneers commission)
